Grace, A Writer on Wheels

Anyone who needs a refresher on homophones should turn to our resident Grace-of-all-trades— writer of essays, rider of horses and skateboards, and so much more. Not only is she an avid horseback rider, gold medalist skateboarder, and ABRSM Level 8 pianist, she is also a talented storyteller who has demonstrated much growth in her writing.

Grace started out at Sentence Center as a cheerful second-grader who diligently handwrote every essay in her fuzzy notebook. Whenever she had trouble coming up with ideas, she would turn to the teachers to help “unstick” her. The resulting essays, which we always look forward to reading, captured an exciting slice of her adventurous life.

Her intrepid spirit shows up in her writing process as well. Grace takes on each week’s Masterpiece Challenge with great enthusiasm, always willing to incorporate feedback and try new techniques. Throughout her time at Sentence Center, she has learned to use dialogue, specific examples, onomatopoeia, and other elements of figurative language to type out wonderfully imaginative pieces of writing.

Grace’s latest accomplishments include a publication with Hey Kids Comics! and a sponsorship by the clothing brand moodytiger. We are also proud that she will be starting 4th grade this fall with many writing skills in her toolbox!

We are cheering you on as you kickflip into your next great adventure, Grace!
